From Set Decorator to Smyrna Shops, My Sister has Arrived

I’ve had a special guest popping into the store lately that you may have run into - my sister, who has somehow managed to hang clothes, brainstorm ideas, offer feedback lightly, and hopefully (fingers crossed) hang some wallpaper… all while looking effortless and probably ten years younger than me.

She drives an hour from Decatur to Smyrna just to help, with only sibling points in return and a sense of duty she definitely didn’t sign up for.

We’re three years apart and lead wildly different lives. She’s a globe-trotting set decorator married to someone equally as adventurous and talented. But I have to admit: she didn’t fall as far from the shopkeeper tree as I may have thought (or she probably would have preferred!)

Her career may be all movie sets and passport stamps, but when it comes to spotting a good product or helping shape a space, she's got it.✨️ And after all these years, her opinion still matters to me. Just don’t tell her I said that.

So here’s to sisters. The stylish, generous, unexpectedly boutique-savvy kind.

Did I mention she brought home-grown zucchini plants for me too? 🌱 For the record, she is (naturally) the godmother to one of my rescue dogs whom (who? Gosh) no one else could love. And that's huge. 🐕
