Picking Product (with a little help from the past)

There’s nothing like the adrenaline rush of purchasing new product —equal parts thrill and panic, wondering if you blacked out mid order…

Over the last few weeks, we spent quite a bit of time staring at screens full of rows after rows of beautiful, shiny, oh-so-giftable things, about to decide what would fill the shelves of this new store. No pressure or anything - it only felt like we were about to free fall out of an airplane.

The core timeline of our store launch landed us in a pickle for product ideas right before the July market, but the major showrooms do a wonderful job of showing their product to potential retailers online. So we turned to the sales representatives to help us get started. These reps didn’t just walk us through their lines; they dropped knowledge, gave real talk, and helped us curate a lineup we’re genuinely obsessed with. We said yes to things that made us laugh, things we’d actually gift to our friends, slightly sentimental things we might give our grandparents or that one sweet coworker. We got things we know you’ll walk in and say, “I need this, like, yesterday.”

It was surreal—but also deeply satisfying. So yeah, the first products are officially on the way. The shelves are about to look so good.

We’ll be unboxing soon. You’ve been warned.
